The Scythian culture of the 7th – 2nd centuries B.C.

The exhibition is devoted to the early nomad culture known as “Scythian”, which existed in the first millennium B.C. in the steppes of Eurasia. Dating back to the 7th – 4th centuries B.C., a great many items come from the burial-mounds discovered upon the lands of Crimea, the Kuban and the Dnieper regions. On display in the rooms of the permanent exhibition are the examples of weaponry, the horse harness items and the household articles used by the Scythians. Various archaeological materials represent the culture of Scythian farming tribes from the forest-steppe zone.
