1. How much are entry tickets for the State Hermitage Museum?
700 RUB – entry ticket to the Main Museum Complex and the branches (the General Staff Building, Winter Palace of Peter the Great, Menshikov Palace, the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory)
300 RUB – entry ticket to one of the Hermitage branches: the General Staff Building, Winter Palace of Peter the Great, Menshikov Palace, the Museum of the Imperial Porcelain Factory, and the Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Centre (visiting of the Staraya Derevnya Restoration and Storage Centre is possible only as a part of a guided tour, booked in advance).
Children, schoolchildren and students (depending on citizenship), and pensioners of the Russian Federation get in free.

2. Can you buy tickets online?
Yes. Obtaining tickets through the internet saves time, as there is no need to queue for tickets at the museum. However, discount tickets are not available online.
3. Can you buy tickets at the ticket terminals?
Full-price tickets can be bought at the ticket terminals in the Entrance Hall (through the Great Courtyard of the Winter Palace). Discount tickets are only available at the ticket offices, providing you bring the relevant documents.
4. Which documents do I need if I want to buy a benefit ticket?
Any documents that prove your eligibility. For adult benefits you will need a passport or driver’s license. Pensioners should bring a pension certificate and students should bring a student card.
5. Can I take photographs in the museum?
Yes. Photographs can not be taken only in the Gold and Diamond Rooms of the Treasure Gallery and in the rooms where temporary exhibitions are placed.
6. How can I book a tour?
Tickets for general tours can be bought at the museum ticket offices upon arrival, or you can book in advance at the Hermitage Excursion Bureau or by telephone on (812) 571-84-46.

8. Can I get an audio guide around the museum, and which languages are available?
Audio guides around the Hermitage are available in Russian, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Please ask about audio guide hire at the hire point in the Main Gallery (just past security) and at the top of the Jordan Staircase (you will need to put down a deposit).
9. Do I need to wear protective footwear to prevent damaging the Hermitage’s famous parquet floor?
The parquet in the Hermitage is protected by abrasion-resistant varnish, which is periodically renewed; therefore, you are allowed to walk around the Hermitage without protective footwear. It is not recommended to wear shoes which may damage the parquet, such as shoes with sharp heels, studs or a metal sole.
10. Can I visit the museum in the evening?
Yes, on Wednesdays and Fridays the museum is open from 10.30 until 21.00. The ticket offices close at 20.00.
