Any commercial or non-commercial organization which has made a contribution to the museum’s development can become a corporate member of the international Hermitage Friends’ Club. A donation may take various forms, including cash offering and materials, equipment, services and works needed by the museum.
The relations between the State Hermitage and the participating corporate members of the Hermitage Friends’ Club programme are determined by the following laws of the Russian Federation:
- The Civil Code of the Russian Federation
- Federal Law No. 135-FZ “On Charitable Activities and Charitable Organizations” dated 11 August 1995
- Federal Law No. 275-FZ “On the Procedure for the Formation and Use of Special-Purpose Capital of Non-Commercial Organizations” dated 30 December 2006
- Federal Law No. 7-FZ “On Non-Commercial Organizations” dated 12 January 1996
By virtue of civil law contracts (sponsor support agreements, donations, charitable contributions, etc.), socially important programmes and projects are jointly conducted by the museum and the participating corporate members of the Hermitage Friends’ Club in conformity with the State Hermitage range of activities.
Heads of organizations, who have become corporate members of the Hermitage Friends’ Club under the agreement, get Club membership cards and are granted special privileges. The State Hermitage continually constantly seeks new forms of interaction with the partners and carries out a wide range of joint projects with due regard for the specific nature of every participant’s activities and interests.
