Conference on “Current Researches in the Sphere of Decorative and Applied Art, Architecture and Ethnography” in memory of Tamara Malinina

Tamara Malinina was for many years not only the keeper of the Hermitage’s collection of Russian glass, but also a collector through whose efforts the collection was expanded considerably with new items. She was also the author of numerous research papers on the history of glass.

The conference participants were Tamara Malinina’s colleagues from the Hermitage and members of staff from museums and research institutions in St Petersburg, Moscow and other Russian cities. There were presentations on the history of the formation of glass collections, on the attribution and restoration of articles and on works of decorative and applied art with glass embellishments. The conference-goers were able to acquaint themselves with the Hermitage’s glass stocks.
